Following the accident, he was immediately admitted to the hospital in critical condition, where he fought a courageous battle for over six weeks.

The CaringBridge page, dedicated to updating friends and well-wishers, sadly announced his untimely demise. The announcement said that Dr. had found eternal peace and had gone home to be with Jesus.

Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the severity of his head injury appeared impossible. Dr. Durme passed away surrounded by his wife, two loving children, two brothers, and a sister.
